How We Help

Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children (ACFC) is committed to children with cancer and their families, right here in Arizona. Our mission is to provide social,
emotional and financial support for families managing the health and well being of a loved one with pediatric cancer. ACFC provides practical support to local
families by offering:

Assistance Program

A child undergoing cancer treatment spends days, weeks, sometimes months in the hospital, and the overall expense of having a child with cancer is often too much for families to handle. ACFC assists families with travel, medical, rent, and other expenses associated with, and impacted by, their child's cancer diagnosis. Typical assistance is $500-$2,000.

Cancer Concierge

Traveling with a child that has cancer can be overwhelming. The goal of our Cancer Concierge is to eliminate caregiver stress by providing a coordinated lodging and transportation plan for in-state and out-of-state travel.

Sunshine Pack

Every child assisted through our programs receives our signature Sunshine Pack which includes comforting items such as a blanket, books, small games, art supplies, and more.

K9 Companion Visit & Placement

A visit from one of ACFC's K9 Companions guarantees smiles all around. Visits can take place at hospitals, homes, hospice facilities, and at funerals. Our therapy dogs have a magical way of putting everyone at ease- children, caregivers, and medical staff alike. ACFC also offers K9 Companion Placement to locate, obtain and fund the placement of an assistance dog for qualifying patients.

"We wanted to let you know how thankful and touched we were to have been chosen to be a recipient of the Sunshine Pack. What a blessing it is for us to receive the check of $500. We have definitely put it to good use paying for gas to and from PCH. Our daughter is currently here at PCH. She just had a bone marrow transplant and is doing great and fighting strong. We are thankful for you organization’s support."

– Family of Evelyn

"Last year, my then 14 year old nephew, Mason was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer.  We live in Phoenix and wanted him to have the best care that would increase his odds of surviving, but found a lack of specialists in our area.  We transported Mason to MD Anderson in Houston, TX where his care has remained.  Having Mason's treatments out of state has been difficult but we felt like we had no choice.  We are so grateful to have the support from AZ Cancer Foundation for Children to assist with the ongoing travel expenses to Houston.  Mason just celebrated his 15th birthday, we are hoping he has many more birthdays."
